Community Guidelines

uCitizen is a civic safety and communication platform. These guidelines explain acceptable use of communities, reports, feeds, forums, store offers, and messaging.

Zero Tolerance Policy

We do not tolerate:

  1. Hate Speech
  2. Violence or Threats
  3. Illegal Activities
  4. Misinformation about emergencies or safety
  5. Harassment or abuse

Communities (Group Chats)

Communities are group chats that may be public or private and can contain up to 200 participants.

  • Users may share text, images, videos and voice notes.
  • Users may reply to messages.
  • Users may share content between communities they belong to.
  • Users may create offers and advertisements inside communities.
  • Members may leave communities at any time.
  • Messages remain unless deleted.
Community Administrators

Administrators may:

  • Delete messages
  • Pin messages
  • Restrict messaging
  • Turn messaging off
  • Schedule messaging restrictions
  • Remove members

Emergency Reports

  • Users may create public or private reports.
  • Users may delete their reports at any time.
  • Organization administrators may delete reports.
  • Users may comment on reports.
  • Comment authors or administrators may delete comments.

Forums and Stories

  • Forums belong to organizations.
  • Organizations may create or delete forums at any time.
  • Organizations may allow or disable comments.
  • Users may delete their comments.

Feeds and Updates

  • Users control their own feeds.
  • Feeds may contain text, images, or video.
  • Users may delete their feeds at any time.
  • Feeds are subject to community review.
  • Feeds may be automatically removed if heavily reported.
  • Users may delete their comments.
  • Users may hide content permanently.

Messaging and Privacy Controls

  • Users control who can message them.
  • Existing chats remain active.
  • Users control last-seen visibility.
  • Users control online status visibility.
  • Users control profile visibility.
  • Users control bio and contact information visibility.

Storefront and Offers

Storefronts allow sellers to advertise products and services.

  • Stores are responsible for their listings.
  • uCitizen does not guarantee products or sellers.
  • uCitizen may remove stores or items at any time.
  • Store names may be changed for compliance reasons.
  • Store owners are responsible for all transactions.

Enforcement

  • Content may be removed at any time.
  • Accounts may be suspended.
  • Stores may be removed.
  • Listings may be removed.
